The State Housing Initiatives Program (SHIP) Coordinator (through Emerald Coast Regional Council) for the County manages rehabilitation projects. We need Florida Licensed General Contractors to participate in our Program. We currently have up to 15 rehabilitation projects we are preparing for bid.

Our process is simple:

• Attend a bid walk through meeting;
• At the walk through, discuss the work write-up (additions and alterations, as agreed upon by all contractors);
• Use the updated work write-up to prepare and submit your bid approximately 2 weeks later (set bid submission time);
• Attend bid openings or be notified of the bid winner.

Rehabilitation awards are up to $50,000 and our payment process is easy. You may receive payments in draws or as a lump sum.

The SHIP Coordinator will host a new SHIP Contractor meeting at the Washington County BOCC Offices, 1331 South Blvd., Chipley on August 23, 2023 at 9:00am. We will discuss the program, with time for a question-answer session. Only Florida General Licensed contractors are allowed to participate in the Program, but anyone may attend.
